EMANATE Ported to Chorus/ClassiX R3.1

San Jose, California, September 30, 1997 - SNMP Research today released EMANATE ported to Chorus/ClassiX r3.1, a real-time operating system offered by Chorus Systems S.A. This release brings EMANATE's easy-to-use and easy-to-extend SNMP technology to the growing number of developers who use Chorus/ClassiX for their embedded systems products.

User organizations are demanding that every product connected to a network offer management information via SNMP. SNMP access allows these user organizations to access this information from popular management stations. As the scope of SNMP management reaches further into telecommunications and toward the peripheral devices connected to a network, developers of embedded systems are finding that SNMP capabilities must be a part of their product plan.

EMANATE is an ideal SNMP agent architecture for these applications. The MIB compiler and agent-building tools that are bundled with the agent includes many automatic code generation routines that results in a cookbook approach to extending management to the unique aspects of the developer's system. In addition, EMANATE supports SNMPv1, SNMPv2c, and SNMPv3 and a multilingual option so that the developer may choose to use the the best management framework, or build in transition capabilities so that it will not matter which SNMP framework the user chooses to employ.

Jeff Case, Founder of SNMP Research, says, "We are pleased to add Chorus/ClassiX to our growing list of supported real-time operating systems. The demand for SNMP management capabilities within embedded intelligent systems and telecommunications devices is growing, so this announcement is good news for a number of original equipment manufacturers. Chorus and SNMP Research have several customers in common and we are pleased to be able to provide our products on the Chorus platform."

Chorus/ClassiX is a leading operating system for telecommunications networks and intelligent devices. Chorus/ClassiX offers state-of-the-art real-time embedded software technologies which provide unbeatable Internet-enabled telecom networks and devices.
