Knoxville, TN, July, 2004 - SNMP Research International begins shipping Release 16.1 source code for developer products to international customers.

SNMP Research has been shipping binary versions of Release 16.1 to customers worldwide* beginning in October, 2003, soon after receiving permission from the U.S. export authorities to do so. SNMP Research has now received permission from the U.S. export authorities to export source code versions of their manager and agent products worldwide*.

SNMP Research's software Release 16.1 for the EMANATE ^® family of SNMP agent developer tools, and the BRASS^TM family of SNMP manager development tools include many new features and performance enhancements. Release 16.1 source code is now available for licensing for new projects, and is being provided at no additional charge to our customers that have an up-to-date Software Service Agreement.

Enhancements include:

• Support for the DES cryptography algorithm for SNMPv3 privacy.
• Reduced code size for typical embedded agents.
• All documentation is now supplied in pdf format with bookmarks.
• All products include a Quick Start Guide.
• Support for latest versions of Internet standards for SNMP (RFC3410-3418).
• Updated platform support, including popular open systems and embedded real-time operating systems.
• SNMPv3 Configuration Wizard application is included for internal development and testing purposes.
• Enhanced MIB compiler and MIB processing tools are included for both agents and managers.
• New command line options for EMANATE agents to provide enhanced deployment flexibility.
• The EMANATE Master Agent now makes more efficient use of operating system thread facilities for enhanced performance.
